Tretorn
Born out of Scandinavian weather in 1891, Tretorn made rubber galoshes for farmers to protect their feet. From sneakers, to tennis balls, to boots, Tretorn grew over the years. During the Second World War all imports of rubber were stopped, so in 1939 Tretorn started a nation-wide rubber collection in Sweden, which encouraged customers to hand in old rubber boots and waste and they began to regenerate the rubber into new products. Over the years Tretorn has produced 100% degradable jackets, they have created the OCEAN-SHELL fabric made from recycled PET bottles collected from the ocean, and this fabric can be recycled again. In 2017 they began to make products for their second Eco Essentials project which uses recycled fishing nets collected to prevent ghost nets in the oceans.
